Lane 2 Months Old

Lane was 2 months old on June 19th!  She was 22.75 in and 9 lb 15 oz at her checkup (tall and skinny)!  The acne and cradle cap are gone and she has gotten quite the little social personality.  She loves to stare into people's eyes and "talk" and smile.  She makes the cutest little coo sounds and we even get some belly laughs.  She has gotten much more laid back, except for that darn car seat- she still screams the entire time in it.  She has tracheomalacia, so she has stridor when gets excited, eats too fast, or gets really upset- we call her our little squeaker.  She is starting to get on a schedule and takes almost all of her naps in the crib.  She even sleeps good at night most of the time (we broke the rules and she sleeps on her belly)- down for bed at 7/8:00 and up at 3/4:00.  We have an occasional rough night, but it is a huge improvement.  She is still a mommy's girl, but Elise is probably her favorite person in the world!  We just love her to pieces!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Mallory!

Mallory Moo turned 3 on June 2nd!  That girl had been anticipating and talking about her birthday for months.  When the day finally came, I woke her up singing "Happy Birthday".  Her eyes got as big as saucers and she said, "Today is my birthday?!"  I told her it was and she said, "I am 3?!"  I told her yes and she was sooooo excited!  We had a special day- she chose pizza for her birthday dinner, so we went to LaRosas and then to Toys-R-Us.   She was just beside herself that Geoffrey the Giraffe called her earlier in the day and wanted me to call him back so she could talk to him again.  I told her he was busy at work, so she wanted to see him at the store!  No Geoffrey there, but she was thrilled to get her bday balloon and crown.

She was 28lbs at her checkup- tall and skinny.  She is the most independent child- she will never let you help her do anything.  She is always on Mallory time- very slooowww.  She is obsessed with clothes and shoes- still only dresses and fancy shoes.  She doesn't like to wear tights anymore and will insist that, "This dress covers my hiney".   She has a little mean streak, but usually she is very sweet and cuddly.  She is definitely Daddy's little girl and the other day she asked him in the sweetest little voice, "Daddy will you please marry me?"

She and Elise go back and forth.  One minute they are "best friends" and then "not friends".  I tell them it doesn't matter because they are sisters, so they don't have a choice!  Mallory calls us Brian and Beka or Missy Mae at random times- very funny.  She has a make believe baby named Nya, who is sometimes in her belly and sometimes in her stroller or being breastfed.  Oh, and Mallory loves anything purple and princesses (Belle is her favorite and she calls her Princess Beauty)!

Happy Birthday Mallory!  I could go on and on forever about your cute little self!  I love you!!!!

Oh, That Hair!

Everywhere we go we hear, "Oh, look at all that hair"!  I always wanted a baby with hair and after my 2 bald blondies, I sure got it with Lane!  Then the little stinker gets the worst cradle cap (to compliment her acne).  I had to use some cradle cap lotion and dandruff shampoo on her everyday.  We have fun styling her and Brian calls her Kramer when her hair is wet.  And for the record, I have never had heartburn a day in my life!

Mallory was so funny at her program! She was so excited that Brian and I were there and kept trying to talk to us. She was telling everyone "My mommy is Beka and daddy is Brian".

Elise's End of Year Program 5/23/11

Elise's class did a cute little program where the kids broke into sessions for each month of the year. Elise's group did Spring and sang a song about birds. Hard to believe she will be going to kindergarten next year!

Lane 1 Month Old

Lane's first month really flew by! At her 2 wk checkup she was 8 lb 1oz. She isn't quite as laid back as I thought she would be. She loves to cuddle and would sleep all the time on me. Unfortunately, there are 2 other munchkins who need my attention too, so we are working on getting her to sleep elsewhere. We moved her into her crib because she was using me as a pacifier and mama was getting no sleep! She takes good naps in her swing and we are working on getting her into her crib for those as well. She is just now starting to take a pacifier, whereas before it just made her mad. She HATES her car seat! She loves to stare at me and grins from ear to ear. She likes when I whistle and she is starting to coo and kick her feet in excitement. She has the worst baby acne and cradle cap (my poor cute little baby has acne?!), but thankfully still has all of that hair! She is a good little eater- she will eat until she pukes, so I finally learned my lesson and she only eats from one side at a time. I relish every minute with her and I see now why the 3rd is so spoiled!

Baby Shower 5/13/11

Lane was overstimulated and fussy. Everyone tried to soothe and cuddle her.
