Welcome Baby Lane

My very last pregnant moment- taken right before my water was broken

The only tub picture that was "postable"

IT'S A GIRL!!! Lane Margaret Abraham finally arrived on April 19th! She was 7lb 110z, 20 in, and just absolutely perfect!!! It went a little something like this...

I had my OB appt that morning and saw a different midwife than I normally do. I was 41 + 4 weeks and still feeling pretty good, but definitely ready to have the baby. My nonstress tests were reactive and baby was happy as a lark, showing no signs that it was ready to come. Lisa proposed the idea of having me come to Family Beginnings and just let her break my water and she was sure that would get things started. Since I was group B strep negative, she would let me go 2 days being ruptured before I would have to get Pitocin if I didn't go into labor on my own. I figured I was pretty much facing an induction anyway, so why not give it the old college try.

Someone showed up to Family Beginnings in labor right before we were supposed to come in, so I lost my room (boo), but then someone delivered and offered to give up her room (yay) so we were still on. By the way, I am forever grateful to that person! Lisa broke my water at 8:35 p.m. and contractions started immediately. I walked for a little bit then hopped in the tub and Lane was born at 10:11 p.m.! It was such a great delivery and I can't say enough good things about our experience.

We were surprised by the head of dark hair! She is a really good baby and couldn't be any more adorable! Her sisters are so in love with her- Elise tells me, "She is soooo cuuute" and Mallory calls her, "My baby". It melts my heart to see them together. Brian said that he knew all along it would be a girl and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Elise's Birthday 4/11

I just can't believe that Elise is 5!!!!! She is such a spunky, smart, witty, loving, moody little girl. It seems like just yesterday she was born and now she is getting ready to go to kindergarten! Happy Birthday my little firework!!! I am so proud of you!

We celebrated her birthday on Tuesday just in case I was in the hospital having #3 on Wednesday. We had her favorite meal for dinner- spaghetti and broccoli and then went to Toy R Us for her to get a bike. It was a good thing we celebrated early because the poor girl got sick on her birthday:( She didn't even want us to sing her because she felt so bad.

The bike she chose says "Wild Child" on it- how appropriate!

Still Waiting 4/11

I am almost 41 weeks and still no baby:( I am just proving all the old wives tales wrong- I watched a full moon come and go (a "supermoon" to be exact), I have watched the barometric pressure rise and fall, I have walked/ran/done my spinning class and yet here I am in my TENTH month of pregnancy! I hope to have some news soon, but not tomorrow because my oldest baby Elise turns FIVE!!!
The girls at work parked this outside my office door hoping it would prompt my labor! They all lost their bets in the office pool to guess my delivery date.

Elise sticking a fork in me because I am done!!!!

Spring Picnic 4/11

We had our first picnic of the year over the weekend! After church, we headed to Delco park and enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine. It was great!

Mallory is being a duck here. She is in a fiercely independent stage- will only wear "dress and tights". We had to fight with her to wear gym shoes to the park because she insists on "pretty shoes" or "fancy shoes". Who knew a toddler could be such a fashionista?!

Bella & Salvadore's Bday Party 4/11

We had a blast at Bella and Salvadore's rock-climbing party. It is hard to believe that we will be adding 2 more cousins into the mix!
