More Mother's Day Pics

We had lunch with Memaw at the Front Porch Coffee House. Elise was being super silly and wouldn't cooperate for a picture. If you can't beat em, join em!

Action Shot

Elise is such a tomboy. She saw some boys playing in the water at Cox and she wanted to do it too. She was walking in the water and looking for crocodiles and then she wiped out. Thankfully she was fine and thought it was hilarious that she had a wet butt. Brian just happened to be clicking away and got her mid-fall! I can laugh now, but I was having a heart attack at the time.

Cox Arboretum

We went to Cox last week to get some pics of the girls. We had so much fun looking at all of the turtles, fish, and flowers. I can't believe how grown up they look in these pictures!

Pony Rides

We put a leash on this little pony to save my back. As I was pulling Elise around, Mal decided to help!

Then she tried to hop on!!!

The negotiations began. From the looks of the picture I think Mal said, "If you don't give me a turn I'm going to..."

Elise gave up her spot on the carriage and took her little sister for a ride!

May Celebrations

Daddy and his girls

Elise eating her third cupcake (seriously!)

Betah's stone that we made at the Lovebug Party

May has been a busy month. We celebrated Daddy's birthday and Mother's Day with Betah and Papa together. We had Maria's lasagna and Julie's cupcakes- both fabulous! Elise loved singing 'Happy Birthday' and she got a kick out of seeing her handprint on Betah's present.

Our Little Divas

We loaded the girls up in the wagon and had a little picnic at the greenspace in our neighborhood. Now when you ask Elise what she wants for lunch she will tell you, "A sandwich like Daddy's at the picnic". They got to run around and feed the ducks at the pond. Could they be any cuter?!

Ecothon at the Wilds

A couple of weeks ago I ran 5K at the Wilds animal conservation center in Zainesville. It was the coolest race I have ever done- the course was very hilly and challenging, but so scenic and beautiful. We had great weather and got to enjoy the place before it opened up for the season.

Slumber Party

Julia getting ready to fall asleep

The girls watching Cinderella with some serious bed-head

Julia was so excited to brush her teeth with Elise

Catching butterflies

Elise and Julia had their first slumber party, well kind of.... I actually picked Julia up from Katie's sister's wedding reception after Elise went to bed. Julia did so well- she fell asleep in the car and then came in and got ready for bed. She told Brian all about throwing petals from the basket and then passed out watching Cinderella. Elise got up in the morning and was excited to see Julia, but then got upset because she wanted to see Katie and was a grumpy butt for the rest of the day.
It was so funny to listen to the girls talk. During Cinderella, Elise said "Hey there is Santa Clause (it was really Cinderella's dad) and Julia said, "No that isn't Santa- that's my grandpa!" Julia kept talking about when she was a baby in her mommy's tummy and Elise, who has never mentioned anything about this concept (not even during my pregnancy with Mal) said, "Well when I was a baby in my mommy's belly I was drinking breastmilk". Now thats all she talks about- "When I was a little baby in my mommy's belly..."
I'm sure we will have more slumber parties in the future. Hopefully with Elise in a better mood! I managed to get a few pics in between all of the Elise drama.

Eleven Months Old

Mallory was eleven months old on Saturday! She is still a wonderful baby. She just runs around the house, babbling and entertaining herself. She loves to do Pat-a-cake and peekaboo. Her newest obsessions are Wyatt and the bean bag chair. She is very mild mannered for the most part, but she sure can throw a fit when I leave or when she wants something she can't have. I just had to post that bottom picture of her yelling at Brian because she wanted the camera- if you look closely you can see her one tooth (soon to be two)!

Xenia Half Marathon

Last month I ran the Xenia Half Marathon. It was my first long race since having Mallory- much easier to do than the Flying Pig half marathon I did 4 weeks before having her. I did Jeff Galloway's run/walk training program and really liked it. I finished in 2 hrs 18 mins and felt great afterwards. The weather was beautiful and I had those adorable faces to meet me at the end. Elise and Mallory crossed the finish line with me and Elise was so excited. She kept saying, "I did it! I ran my first race! I got my first medal!" She wanted to race again, I said absolutely not! I'll be running the USAF full marathon in September if any of you gals want to join me (Shae? Gina? I promise no hotel fire the night before.)
