Lane's First Haircut

I'm not used to this child with a ridiculous head of hair.  Elise was almost 3 before she had her first haircut and Mallory really just started getting hair!  Lane was looking like a little ragamuffin and I had to take her to get trimmed up.  She was so good for her first haircut and she looks like such a big girl now.

 My #1 reason for getting her hair cut- the rat tail

Lane was 9 months old on January 19th (yes, I am posting this a week before she is 10 months)!  Her posed picture was impossible this month- she is a monkey on the move.  She was 17lb, 14 oz at her checkup and is definitely our chunkiest baby.  She has not met a food she doesn't like, she even ate sauerkraut on New Years Day and yelled at me because I wasn't feeding her fast enough!  She had her first sick visit this month with periorbital cellulitis.  It freaked me and Brian out, but other than looking like a bruiser, it didn't bother Lane a bit.  Lane cruises and climbs all over and has taken a step here and there.  She even climbed the steps on her own one day.  We have had an occasional bout of separation/stranger anxiety, but she usually gets over it really quickly.  She says "Hi" in this adorable high-pitched squeal, "Ah oh" (=uh oh), "Buby" (=baby).

New Year's Eve 12/11

 We celebrated at home with an early "dance party" per Elise and Mal's request.  We also tried a family picture using the timer- hilarious.  2011 was the absolute best year of my life.  The addition of Lane to our family was more awesome than I ever could have imagined it would be.  She completes me, completes our family (Jerry Maguire anyone?) and I look forward to the years ahead with Brian, the girls, and that rascal of a dog.  Happy 2012!

Memaw's Surprise Party 12/11

We had a surprise party for my mom on New Year's Eve for her 60th bday.  We had a great lunch with our family, some folks from her work, and some of my aunts/uncles.  All of the cousins had a blast running around with each other and helping Memaw open presents.  My aunt Joyce (who is also Zippers the clown- seriously) brought some of her gear and made balloon animals.  It was a nice celebration.

Christmas at Papa & Betah's 12/11

We had Christmas dinner at Papa and Betah's.  The girls were so excited - Mallory's favorite gift was new sparkle shoes and boots and Elise's was more Little Pets.  Lane got to meet Great Grandpa for the first time.  It was very nice and the girls were very good.

Christmas Morning 12/11

The girls slept in until 7:30!  We went in to wake Lane up and she was so out of it.  The girls were so appreciative of all of the gifts that Santa brought.  Elise got the ice skating Barbie and Ken that she really wanted and Mal got a princess hula hoop that she wanted.  Their big gifts were the Leap Pads (thanks to Betah for making it possible for Santa to get those:)!
