The Big 3-0!!!!
Elise insisted that I wear a party hat while I blew out my candles!
So, I turned thirty last Monday... I didn't get depressed or spontaneously combust or anything horrible. I heard so many people talking about how awful, dreadful, and sad it was to turn 30. I wasn't particularly looking forward to it, but I didn't fear it either. I have the most amazing family- I couldn't ask for a better husband or daughters. I have exceeded many of my life goals and I am ahead of where I thought I would be at thirty.
While we have had to deal with some devastating news lately, I know that everything happens for a reason and it will all be O.K. If I've learned any life lesson in thirty years- it is that you sometimes have to realize that not everything is in your control (which is really hard for a life long control freak)!
Instead of a big bash, I had a few small celebrations- Brian took me out to a movie and dinner, Diana and I had a spa day, and Theresa and Katie took me to several happy hours. I did my official USAF Marathon registration on the 8th as a present to myself. I figure if you are at your peak of physical fitness at 30, then what better way to commemorate it?
I don't mourn the loss of my 20s one bit. Life is good at 30!

Happy Birthday Mallory Moo!!!
Unbelievable... my little baby is one today! I just can't believe how fast this year has gone. Mallory continues to be such a wonderful baby. She is so content- she just walks around and smiles and giggles and jabbers. She points at everything and says, "Dat?" She says 'night night', 'Wyatt', 'Teddy', and 'thank you'. She loves to eat and loves to dance. It has been so much fun watching her grow and change. I always look at Mallory and know that God gave me such a good baby for a reason. She is just the sweetest little thing and as I rocked her to bed tonight, I realized that she is just as snuggly and lovey as the day she was born. Hopefully she will stay that way, and hopefully she will forgive us for the nickname (she was dubbed Mallory Moo very early on when she nursed nonstop)!
At her 1 yr checkup, Mallory weighed 18 lb, 10 0z (10%) and was 29 3/4 in (75%). She is a skinny little thing like her sister. We know it is not from lack of eating, but probably due to the fact that she is always on the go!

Zoo Trip With The Girls
Friday we had a "no Daddy, no baby day". Katie, Theresa, and I took the girls to the Cincinnati Zoo- Mallory and Reid stayed with their grandparents. The girls enjoyed themselves and boy they sure have a lot of energy! It was nice to spend some one on one time with Elise and Papa and Betah were excited to spend some one on one time with Mallory.
